Choose the Right Packing Material

packing material

When you are packing your items for shipment, using the right packing material will keep everything in place and reduce the risk of potential damage. There are several types of packing material to choose from. In most cases, the items being shipped will determine the best type to use. At times, you may need to use more than one.

Newsprint Works Great

If you are wrapping fragile items or need to separate items but don’t have a lot of room, wrapping them with newsprint is both cost-effective and convenient. Folding the newsprint in half makes it easy to slide between boxes if you want to add a little extra cushion around the edges. It can even be wadded up in loose balls if you need to take up extra space and don’t want to spend extra money on packing peanuts or air pouches.

Packing Peanuts, Air Pouches or Bubble Wrap?

Packing peanuts and air pouches are a great idea if you don’t want to add a lot of extra weight to your package. Packing peanuts are the best for items where you have to fill in extra space, especially around oddly shaped items. Bubble wrap is a great way to add cushion around glass items or around boxes that fit inside one another.

To run an efficient business, you need to keep your shipping costs under control. The best way to do that is to use your packing materials wisely. Using the right type of packing material for the right shipments can save you money in the long run. If you have questions concerning the best type of packing materials for your products, talk to a professional at your local post office or shipping store.
